Plymouth and Exeter are half an hour away for theatres and larger shopping centres, whilst Torquay, with all its many seaside attractions, is just 4 miles away.

    FISHING

The area has abundant wildlife and is very popular with birdwatchers. It is one of the few strongholds for the rare Cirl Bunting (pictured) and the Exe estuary is renowned for its over-wintering birds, particularly the beautiful Avocet.
Just down the hill from Bowden Close House is the picturesque Maidencombe cove where you can sit at the lovely little Beach Cafe and try to spot the seals.
